Mistletoe Therapy

In the German speaking countries, mistletoe is one of the most frequently used medicinal plants in complementary cancer treatment and was already known by the Celts for its medical value. Many studies showed that using mistletoe for medical purposes as an add-on to state-of-the-art-therapy makes sense. It improves the patient’s general well-being and increases his tolerance of radiation or chemotherapy.

At the Cancer Hospital SanaFontis, only products with a high amount of lectinol are used. This substance's anti-neoplastic effect could be demonstrated in pre-clinical studies. But mistletoe therapy belongs in the hands of an experienced therapist because it can stimulate progression in some tumours.
